Jasper “Axodouble” V.

DevOps Engineer · Australia

Introduction

I am a DevOps Engineer managing production environments that range from bare-metal hosting to cloud computing. I deploy bare-metal servers and containerized edge infrastructure for fast service delivery, and I build CI/CD pipelines to automate routine work. I work well in teams and independently, and I keep expectations clear for colleagues and stakeholders alike.

I am at-home in Linux-based environments, and have professional experience managing both Debian & RHEL-based distro's.

Experience

  1. DevOps Engineer — AustraliaPresent

    August 2025 – Present · 1.2 years

I manage DevOps operations in Australia on large-scale production infrastructure, spanning hardware, networking, and self-hosted services — from Fortinet and FortiGate to AI server setups. I focus on learning new concepts and improving existing systems.

  2. Developer & Specialist — Hedin IT

    January 2024 – June 2025 · 1.5 years

I developed and maintained solutions for Hedin IT. My key responsibilities included:

    • Maintaining network infrastructure.
    • Assisting in large-scale equipment and location migrations.
    • Managing systems for BMW in the Netherlands for staff and end-users.

Key achievement: improved a workflow to reduce its processing time from 6 days to 10 minutes.

I learned system administration and network design under senior supervision. This experience provided a strong foundation in both theory and practical application.

  4. IT Technician — Ziggo (ISP)

    February 2023 – August 2023 · 7 months

I worked on hardware and network design for a large-scale ISP in the Netherlands — mostly hardware networking and high-level ISP network design.

    • Set up resilient networks for hundreds of thousands of homes.
    • Replaced outdated network equipment.
    • Troubleshooted complex network issues, including intermittent service dropouts.

  5. Technician — Gr8 Hotels

    March 2021 – January 2023 · 2 years

I maintained commercial hardware across hotel properties, including refrigeration and food preparation machines. It was hands-on hardware work — learning to fix and maintain all kinds of machinery, and getting to know hardware inside out, including in computers.

TypeScript
Web development with an emphasis on type safety. I prefer Bun for its performance advantages over the standard Node.js engine.
Python
Automation and backend tasks. I manage environments and packages using Astral's uv and uvx.
Docker
Deploying applications and stacks with consistent, dependency-free releases. I publish custom tools to GitHub and my own Git instance.
Linux
Ubuntu is my primary operating system for production and development; I prefer Debian-based systems for their stability and feature sets. Also on production: Debian, AlmaLinux (RHEL), Fedora, Alpine. Plus experience with Arch-based platforms.
